Ceramic artist, Bunsho-gama 1980 Born in Imari City, Saga Prefecture Started pottery at the age of 22 at his family's Bunsho kiln (opened around 1900) At the age of 28,
he started producing white porcelain using Izumiyama porcelain stone in Arita-cho. At the age of 42, he set up clay making equipment at his studio. Since then, porcelain stone has been mined, turned into clay and made into ceramic arts at the Bunsho kiln studio. Uniquely interpreting ancient techniques and updating forms to suit the times, Kojiro eschews remaking old things. He continues to think about how to make his own ceramics that do not put too much of a burden on the earth.
