Wood-Fired Rice Bowl

A wood-fired stoneware bowl by Yoshio Kangawa. Ash settled on the clay during firing and melted into a soft, pale green-gray, with warm flashes near the rim and foot where the flame passed. No two come out the same.

A classic rice bowl shape on a small foot. Also good for a side dish.
The muted color makes white rice look especially good.

With daily use, the clay absorbs oils and the surface slowly deepens in character.

Care: Not dishwasher or microwave safe. Soak in water before first use.
