Spent a year in France during university.
After working in general merchandise purchasing, product planning, and
gallery planning, she moved to the mountains of
Nara and began making ceramics.
2013: Studied under Iga Kimura Kata
2015: Became independent and started making ceramics at home in Nara
Nestled near the mountains, Sakurai lives and works in harmony
with the changing seasons, embracing the gifts of nature in her daily life.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world around her,
she crafts exquisite pieces of tableware.
Committed to sustainability,
Sakurai's minimizes waste by incorporating recycled glass into her creations.
She also produces pieces dyed with materials sourced
from the chestnut trees in her garden.
Just as clothing changes with the seasons, the pottery she creates varies
with the time of year, resulting in a diverse range of pieces.
