Sometsuke small plate

This plate is believed to be from the late Edo period. During the period of active Nanban trade with the Netherlands, Dutch were frequently featured in artwork. 

Sometsuke designs are soft, and the raised pattern in the center is typical of styles that gained popularity during this time.

This item may have iron spots, marks from sticking, kiln marks, and fading of the glaze due to aging, which occur during the firing process. Since each piece is hand-painted and handmade, there may be differences in size (in millimeters), color, and the size of the designs. No two pieces are exactly alike.
